La Canonica
The house
“La Canonica” means the house of the priest. It was built in 1014, directly against the church, and that is what it was used for until 1957.

The house and the church share a wall. The one is built onto the other, which is what a canonica was: the priest lived at the church he served.
The last resident priest left in 1957.
Today the building holds the estate’s wine and olive oil shop, and the old olive mill.
